Description:3-Bromo-4-methylaniline is a synthetic organic compound that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. 3-Bromo-4-methylaniline has been shown to be useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of imatinib, which is used for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. It is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of vx-770, which inhibits the enzyme tyrosine kinase and may have therapeutic potential for treating cancer. 3-Bromo-4-methylaniline has been used to prepare supramolecular structures with a variety of biological molecules such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and peptides. The chemical reactions between 3BMMA and these biomolecules are thought to occur through hydrogen bonding interactions, forming stable complexes that can be identified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR).
