Description:2-Bromo-2-(4-bromophenyl)-2,2'-dimethylacetic acid (2bpd) is the sodium salt of 2-(4-bromophenyl)-2,2'-dimethylacetic acid. It is a metabolite of terfenadine and thionyl chloride. 2bpd has been shown to be an inhibitor of the histamine H1 receptor. This drug is also a brominated derivative of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol, which has been shown to be an inhibitor of the histamine H1 receptor.
