TLR4 is a protein found on the surface of immune cells that senses molecules from bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses. This protein plays an important role in triggering anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory responses to infection. The drug also inhibits platelet aggregation and lipoprotein lipase activity in vitro.
