Description:
N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-L-serine methyl ester is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of fatty acid derivatives. It has been shown to have anticancer activity. This drug is able to inhibit sphingolipid metabolism and fatty acid synthesis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glycosylations. N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-L-serine methyl ester also inhibits the growth of carcinoma cells in culture and has been shown to induce apoptosis in these cells.
