Benzarone is a drug that can be used as an analytical reagent to measure the water vapor pressure of human serum and other biological fluids. It is also used in pharmacological studies to investigate the signal pathways that are involved in mitochondrial membrane potential, energy metabolism, and mitochondrial functions. Benzarone has been shown to have liver lesions, which can be prevented by the use of chemical inhibitors or chemical biology.
