Product Information
- 2,5-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Benzenamine
- (3-Chloro-5-Fluorophenyl)Boronic Acid
- 2,5-Ditrifluoromethylaniline
2,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a receptor binding compound that is used in cancer research. It has been shown to stimulate the growth of prostate cells and to bind to 5-ht1a receptors. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria by competing with their natural substrate for binding sites on cell walls. 2,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline is synthesized from tribromide and chloride in the presence of carbon sources such as acetone or ethanol. The reaction yield can be increased by adding hydrogen chloride gas. The antibacterial activity of 2,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline can be enhanced by coating it on polymer films.
