Product Information
Name:2-Bromo-4-chlorophenol
Brand:Biosynth
Description:2-Bromo-4-chlorophenol is a bifunctional compound that can be used for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. It was first synthesized in 1871 by the German chemist Adolf von Baeyer, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1905. 2-Bromo-4-chlorophenol is an electron donor and a good acceptor, which makes it suitable for cross coupling reactions. It has been shown to be toxic to humans at a concentration of about 100 ppm. Acute toxicity occurs after ingestion or inhalation of large amounts of 2-bromo-4-chlorophenol and manifests as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and muscle weakness. Toxic effects are more severe when exposure occurs via ingestion or inhalation than through skin contact with the liquid form of this chemical.
