N-Benzyl acetamide is a compound that is formed by the reaction of an aryl halide and an amine. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of toll-like receptor 4, which plays a role in the development of cancer. N-Benzyl acetamide also inhibits tumor growth in tissue cultures and has anti-cancer effects in vivo. The drug is metabolized through hydrolysis by trifluoroacetic acid and excreted as the glucuronide conjugate. N-Benzyl acetamide also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
