Description:

Boc-N-methyl-L-isoleucine is an alkaloid that was first isolated from Streptoverticillium and has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Blastomyces. It is biosynthesized by a streptomycete and is an indole alkaloid. Boc-N-methyl-L-isoleucine has also been found in the tumor cells of patients with stomach cancer. The biosynthesis of this compound involves a congener, which is not yet known. Boc-N-methyl-L-isoleucine is also a member of the teleocidin family, which includes other compounds such as actinonin, baccharin, and roquefortine C.
