Boc-Phe-Pro-OH also has antibacterial properties and can be used for the treatment of bacterial infections. This compound may also have antiinflammatory properties that are mediated by its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Boc-Phe-Pro-OH has been shown to possess a high affinity for the μ opioid receptor, but does not activate this receptor subtype.
