- Boc-Ala-OMe
Boc-L-alanine methyl ester is a pseudopeptide that is synthesized by the reaction of an amine with a carboxylic acid. This uncharged molecule has two functional groups, one of which is a lactam and the other an amine. These functional groups are used in cross-coupling reactions to produce new molecules. Boc-L-alanine methyl ester can be catalysed by magnesium and it reacts at a faster rate than its parent compound, L-alanine methyl ester. It can also be used as a ligand for nanospray experiments and has been shown to have stereoselective properties.
