Product Information
Name:Benzoyl-DL-leucine
Synonyms:
- Bz-DL-Leu-OH(RS)-Benzoyl-2-amino-4-methyl-pentanoic acid
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Benzoyl-DL-leucine is a chiral amino acid. It can be synthesized by the reaction of benzyl bromide with D, L-leucine in acetonitrile at room temperature. The product is purified by vacuum distillation and recrystallization from acetonitrile to yield a white solid. Benzoyl-DL-leucine has been used for peptide synthesis, especially for the synthesis of small peptides with an N-terminal cysteine residue. Benzoyl-DL-leucine is soluble in water and organic solvents because it does not contain ionic groups or hydrogen bonding groups that would cause it to dissolve better in either type of solvent. This compound can be determined using UV absorption spectroscopy and HPLC analysis.br>br>
