Description:

5-Butyl-2-methyl-pyridine is a hydrophobic compound that belongs to the chemical class of polydimethylsiloxanes. It is a regiospecific compound that has been shown to undergo dehydrogenation to form 2,5-dimethylpyridine. The nitrogen atoms in this molecule are involved in hydrogen bonding and intramolecular hydrogen bonding. 5-Butyl-2-methyl-pyridine also reacts with magnesium metal to form an organometallic intermediate. This reaction time can be controlled by varying the frequency of electromagnetic waves and the concentration of magnesium ions.
