Description:

5-Bromo-2-hydroxybenzophenone is a bimolecular ligand that has been shown to be effective in the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction. It is also used as an ingredient in sunscreen formulations, where it absorbs UV radiation and converts it to heat. 5-Bromo-2-hydroxybenzophenone can exist as two isomers: one with a proton on the ring and one without. The former is more stable than the latter and has better photostability.
