Description:N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-2-nitrobenzenesulfonamide is a macrocyclization agent that initiates and controls cyclization by alkylation of amines. The intramolecular nitroarene macrocyclization is stereoselectively controlled through diastereoselective synthesis. Nitrogen atoms in the nitroarene are activated with tert-butoxycarbonyl chloride to form an intermediate, which is then reacted with amines to form the macrocycle. This process is stereochemically mediated and produces a single diastereomer of the product.
