Bis(4-tert-butylphenyl)iodonium hexafluorophosphate (BPIHF) is a monomer that belongs to the group of compounds known as epoxy. It is used in the production of crosslinked epoxy resins, which are polymerized by cationic polymerization. The reaction rate of BPIHF is decreased by light irradiation. Bis(4-tert-butylphenyl)iodonium hexafluorophosphate has been shown to be a highly reactive compound and can react with chalcones and benzoates, which leads to the formation of cationic polymerization products.
