4,5-Bis(2-cyanoethylthio)-1,3-dithiole-2-thione is a fluorescent compound that exists in two orientations, cis and trans. It has been used as a linker for the construction of new compounds with interesting properties. 4,5-Bis(2-cyanoethylthio)-1,3-dithiole-2-thione has been shown to be an effective ligand for palladium cross coupling reactions. This compound can also be used in supramolecular chemistry due to its ability to fluoresce brightly.
