Product Information
Name:Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate
Synonyms:
- Adipic Acid Di(2-ethylhexyl) EsterAdipic Acid Dioctyl EsterDi(2-ethylhexyl) Adipate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is a glycol ester that is used as an analytical reagent in the determination of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. It has been shown to be toxic to bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells. The toxicity of bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as phospholipase A2, lipoxygenase, and cyclooxygenase. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate also has a carcinogenic potential for humans and other mammals. This compound can cause matrix effects in some studies, which may limit its usefulness as an analytical reagent. The optimum concentration for this compound is 10 mM with an optimum pH range of 3-5.END>
