3-Bromobenzaldoxime is a dialkylamino aldoxime compound that is soluble in organic solvents such as diethyl ether, chloroform, dichloromethane, and benzene. It can be synthesized from benzaldehyde and aniline through the reaction of cyclopentenes with phenylsulfonyl chloride. This reaction produces an intermediate that is then reacted with nitrobenzene to produce 3-bromobenzaldoxime. 3-Bromobenzaldoxime has been used in the synthesis of hydroxamic acids and its use as a solvent for nitro compounds.
