The enzyme dopamine D3 receptor ligand binding assays have been used to study the ability of 5-bromo-2,3-dimethoxybenzoic acid to inhibit dopamine uptake in rat striatal membranes. The compound has also been shown to be a specific ligand for the dopamine D3 receptor and bind with a high affinity.
