Product Information
Boc-NH-PEG3-CH2CH2COOH is a cyclic peptide with sequence specificity and affinity for the transferrin receptor. It has been shown to be a ligand for the transferrin receptor and can be used as a fluorescent probe to monitor changes in the levels of this protein. This compound has also been shown to have pharmacological activity in assays designed to measure its ability to bind to proteins that are involved in cellular signaling, such as phospholipase C, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, and adenylate cyclase. Boc-NH-PEG3-CH2CH2COOH was synthesized by attaching an amino acid side chain ester onto the N terminus of a linear peptide consisting of six residues. The sequence specificity of this compound was determined using fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and dichroism techniques.
