Bruceine A is a natural compound that is extracted from the root of Astragalus membranaceus. Bruceine A has been shown to have anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities in vitro. It inhibits cancer cells by binding to hydroxyl groups on their surfaces, inhibiting cellular respiration and inducing apoptosis. The compound also has anti-hepatitis and anti-cancer effects in vivo. Bruceine A inhibits the growth of hepatic cancer cells by suppressing the synthesis of fatty acids, which are necessary for cell proliferation. Bruceine A also inhibits cervical cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting the production of proteins that promote tumor growth.
