Product Information
- 4-Bromodibenzo[b,d]thiophene
- Dibenzothiophene, 4-bromo-
4-Bromodibenzothiophene is a reactive boron compound that can be used in the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds. It is highly reactive and has been shown to react efficiently with imidazole derivatives and boronic acids. The reaction temperature for this transformation is typically within the range of 100-140 °C, but it can be increased to 180 °C if an activator such as piperidine or N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide is used. 4-Bromodibenzothiophene has been shown to react with activated halides at room temperature and nitro groups at lower temperatures, although it does not react with amines or diphenyl ethers. It reacts with c-h bonds in amines and diphenyl ethers, producing the corresponding carboxylic acid, alcohol, or ketone products.
