Product Information
Spiperone is a piperazine derivative that is used as an antipsychotic in the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. It binds to dopamine D2 receptors in the rat brain, with minimal activity at other receptors. Spiperone has been shown to have a high affinity for binding sites in the cortex and striatum. The drug appears to be selective for D2 receptor subpopulations, with no significant affinity for D1 or D4 receptors, and does not saturate binding sites for dopamine.
