Bisabolangelone is a natural product that has been shown to have a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of hl-60 cells. This effect was found to be due to the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the suppression of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Bisabolangelone also has anti-cancer properties, as it inhibits cancer cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in skin cancer cells. It exerts its anticancer activity by inhibiting tyrosinase activity, which is an enzyme involved in melanin production. Bisabolangelone inhibits tyrosinase by binding to the active site and blocking the conversion of DOPA into DOPAquinone. This prevents melanin synthesis and leads to skin whitening.
