1-Bromo-4-hexyloxybenzene is a methoxybenzene derivative with a c-h bond and solvents that are gaseous at room temperature. It has a magnetic susceptibility of 1.5 x 10^-6 cm3/mol, fluorescence emission maxima of 400 nm and can be used as a sensor for oxygen. 1-Bromo-4-hexyloxybenzene is an interdigitated molecule that is resistant to cleavage by thermal or optical means, but can be cleaved by UV light. The efficiency of this compound in solar cells is 2% when used with indium tin oxide (ITO) as the electrode material.
