Description:
6-Chloro-2-picoline is a colourless liquid with a strong odour. It is used in the production of polyolefins and as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. 6-Chloro-2-picoline is also used as an analytical reagent for determining chloride in samples. The product was found to be free from significant levels of conformation, impurities, or other undesirable components. The chloride content was analysed and found to be 99%.
The product has been shown to inhibit the growth of methane monooxygenase, which may lead to aminations, although these effects have not been confirmed.
Thermodynamic analysis has shown that the product's interaction with chloride yields a negative value at room temperature (25°C).
