2-Chloro-4-fluoro-1-nitrobenzene is a halogenated aromatic compound that is used industrially as a chemical intermediate. It can be prepared by the acylation of an indole with an alkyl halide. 2-Chloro-4-fluoro-1-nitrobenzene has been used as a catalyst for the hydrogenation of substitutable phenols. This compound also has been shown to react with benzene in the presence of sodium hydroxide to form 2,6,6,6,-tetrafluorohexanoic acid.
