Product Information
- 1-Chloro-2-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzene
4-Chloro-3-fluorobenzotrifluoride is a fluorinating agent that reacts with 3,4-difluorobenzoic acid to form 4-chloro-3-fluoroaniline. It is used in the manufacture of medicines and other chemicals. Fluorine chemistry can be traced back to the discovery of fluorine by Antoine Lavoisier in 1783. The first well-known use of fluorine was in the synthesis of sulfur hexafluoride for gas warfare during World War I. Today, fluorine is used to make many important chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, polymers, and plastics. Fluorine compounds are also used as catalysts in the petrochemical industry, as refrigerants in air conditioners and freezers, and as fire suppression agents.
