Product Information
- Benzaldehyde, 2-[(4-chlorophenyl)methoxy]-
2-[(4-Chlorobenzyl)oxy]benzaldehyde is an apoptosis inducer that belongs to the group of heterocyclic compounds. It has significant anticancer activity and is a potent inducer of apoptosis in HL-60 cells. Apoptosis is induced by the inhibition of mitochondrial membrane potential, leading to the release of cytochrome c. The anticancer properties are due to DNA fragmentation, which inhibits cell proliferation. 2-[(4-Chlorobenzyl)oxy]benzaldehyde also binds to the pyridine ring at position C2 and inhibits cellular growth.
