Description:
2-Chloro-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole is a volatile organic compound that can be found in the headspace of crops and soils. It is also a metabolite produced by various fungi and bacteria. 2-Chloro-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole has been shown to inhibit the growth of Erysiphe cichoracearum and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. It has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in mice due to its ability to suppress the production of prostaglandins.
