Description:
2-Chloro-6-nitrophenol is a reactive molecule with the ability to produce hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide. It is used as an unintended byproduct of some medicines that use sulfate in their formulation. 2-Chloro-6-nitrophenol can also be used as a pesticide or functional theory. When 2-chloro-6-nitrophenol reacts with persulfate, it can produce hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide. This reaction takes place at room temperature and is catalyzed by light.
