Product Information
Name:1-Chloroethyl isopropyl carbonate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:1-Chloroethyl isopropyl carbonate (CEPC) is a cefpodoxime proxetil metabolite that is formed from the chlorination of 1-chloroacetamide in the presence of isopropyl. CEPC has been shown to have a high yield and can be synthesized from readily available, inexpensive starting materials. It is metabolized by human liver microsomes and plasma, yielding 7-aminocephalosporanic acid, cefpodoxime, and thiourea. This compound can also be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds such as cefotaxime and thiourea.
