• Description: Perospirone is a 5-HT2A receptor agonist that belongs to the class of peroxides. It has been shown to have significant biological properties, such as the ability to inhibit spontaneous motor activity in rats and produce rotarod test deficits. Perospirone also inhibits the synthesis of monoamines, including serotonin and dopamine, by inhibiting the enzyme monoamine oxidase. Perospirone has been shown to be effective against both pyrethrum extract and anhydrous sodium hydroxide solution in a plate test. In addition, 1H-NMR spectroscopy has shown that perospirone possesses a hydroxyl group that can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules.
