Product Information
- Thiophene, 2-(2-Chloroethyl)-
2-(2-Chloroethyl)thiophene is a square, dimeric molecule with a crystal structure. The diffraction pattern of this molecule shows that it has a space group of P4/n. This coordination compound has four borohydride reduction sites and two chloride ligands. A characteristic feature of this compound is the presence of an NMR spectrum with peaks at 7.35 ppm and 8.03 ppm, which correspond to the methyl groups in the molecule. The 2-(2-Chloroethyl)thiophene molecule has been shown to interact with metal complexes such as [Co(en)Cl] and [Ni(en)Cl]. X-ray crystallographic studies show that the complex interacts with the ethylenediamine ligand through hydrogen bonding and π-stacking interactions.
