Description:

Cinosulfuron is a herbicide that has significant interactions with the surface methodology used to study it. It is able to inhibit bacterial growth in tissue culture, and its chemical stability in biological fluids is also of interest. The monoclonal antibodies produced against cinosulfuron have shown that it binds to the carbonyl group on the bacterial cell wall and inhibits cell division. Cinosulfuron has been found to be ineffective against resistant mutants, which may be due to its inability to bind to the mutant cells' cell walls.
