Carvacryl methylether is a natural compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by reacting with the hydroxyl group in their cell walls, which denatures the peptidoglycan layer. Carvacryl methylether also has immunomodulatory effects on human cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of cytokines and other inflammatory mediators. In clinical studies, carvacryl methylether has been found to have anti-carcinogenic properties against cervical cancer. This compound is not active against fungi or viruses, but it does inhibit HIV replication in vitro.
