Description

2-Carboxyethyl phenyl phosphinic acid is a glycol ester that is used as a retardant and chlorine scavenger in the production of polyvinyl chloride. It reacts with metal ions to form insoluble metal salts, which prevents the formation of bubbles in the polymer film. 2-Carboxyethyl phenyl phosphinic acid has been shown to be soluble in aqueous media at pH values less than 7.
