Carlinoside is an extract from the fruit of Citrus aurantium. It has shown anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties in vitro and in vivo studies. Carlinoside has also been found to have a protective effect on fatty acids, which may be due to its ability to inhibit hepg2 cells. Carlinoside may also have a role in plant physiology, as it was shown to stimulate ethylene production and enhance abscisic acid biosynthesis. This natural compound inhibits the protein target of Vitexin and this may be one of the mechanisms by which it exerts its biological activity.
