Description:Cymbopogon Winterianus is a genus of plants in the family Lamiaceae, which are known for their lemon-like fragrance. Cymbopogon Winterianus essential oil contains a variety of volatile compounds including citronella. It has been shown that the optimum concentration for this oil is 0.5%. Cymbopogon Winterianus essential oil has been found to have water vapor surface methodology activity against cell lysis and locomotor activity when tested on rats. This plant also has been shown to have toxicity studies in mice and acetylcholinesterase inhibition properties. Cymbopogon Winterianus essential oil can be used as an alternative to chemical pesticides for control of infectious diseases such as malaria, filariasis, and leishmaniasis.
