2-Chloro-3-methylaniline is a halogenated aromatic compound that is used in the production of polymers and coatings. It has been shown to be stable in the presence of perchlorates and can be used as an electron donor for polymerization reactions. 2-Chloro-3-methylaniline also reacts with UV radiation to produce free radicals that are useful in solar cells, as well as being able to generate electromagnetic energy which can be converted into electricity using a semiconductor. This chemical is toxic and should not be handled without protective clothing.
