Description:
Cyclopentadecanolide is a cyclic ether that is used in the production of health care products. It has been shown to be toxic to rats when administered orally at high doses (2000 mg/kg) for 90 days. Cyclopentadecanolide has been found to have genotoxic activity, but this effect has not been observed in yeast cells or human lymphocytes. Cyclopentadecanolide also shows low bioavailability and low energy content, which may make it unsuitable for oral administration.
