2-Cyclohexylcyclohexanone is a bifunctional compound that can be used as a biocide in wastewater treatment. It can also be used to produce other chemicals, such as carbonyl compounds. 2-Cyclohexylcyclohexanone reacts with sodium citrate in an intramolecular hydrogen transfer reaction to form the corresponding enolate anion and the corresponding ketone. This reaction has been shown to occur in a kinetic manner and is endothermic. The 13C-NMR spectrum of 2-cyclohexylcyclohexanone shows three signals for the two alkyl groups at δ = 71.4, 69.2, and 67.8 ppm, respectively, and one signal for the cyclohexane ring at δ = 46.6 ppm. The liquid crystal composition of this compound consists of biphenyl molecules that have nitrogen atoms on both sides of the double bond and hydrochlor
