Product Information

Name:
Ciwujianoside E
Synonyms:
  • CiwujianosideE
  • Guaianin A
Description:

Ciwujianoside E is a saponin that is extracted from the roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus. It has been shown to have pharmacological effects in vitro and in vivo. Ciwujianoside E is a diphosphate-methyl jasmonate (DPMJ) saponin, which are structurally similar to the well-known glycosides, such as ursolic acid. The biosynthesis of ciwujianoside E starts with uridine. This nucleotide is converted into UDP-glucose, which then reacts with 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic acid to form mannooligodulonic acid. Mannooligodulonic acid reacts with acanthopanax saponins to form ciwujianoside A and ciwujianoside B, which are further modified by methyl jasmonate and meval
