Chlorotitanium triisopropoxide is a light-sensitive chemical that can be used to inhibit hyperproliferative disorders. It is synthesized by the reaction of triflic acid with chlorotitanium dichloride in the presence of a particle and an electron-deficient compound, such as hydrocarbons or hydrogen chloride. Chlorotitanium triisopropoxide forms an active substance when exposed to light, which inhibits cellular proliferation in vitro. This chemical has been shown to inhibit the activity of ns3 protease, which is involved in cancer cell proliferation.
