Product Information
Cefiderocol is a cephalosporin antibiotic that binds to penicillin-binding protein, an enzyme that is essential for bacterial cell wall synthesis. It has shown antibacterial efficacy against Enterobacteriaceae and Gram-positive bacteria. Cefiderocol can be used to treat infectious diseases caused by these organisms, such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and septicemia. Cefiderocol has been shown to be effective in preventing the emergence of resistant mutants in vitro and in vivo. The drug is not active against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or colistin-resistant bacteria.
