Cibenzoline succinate is a chemical compound that is used as a film-forming polymer. It has the ability to form a protective coating over damaged tissue and to reduce inflammation. Cibenzoline succinate has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects, which may be due to its ability to stimulate glucose uptake by muscle cells in the presence of insulin. This drug also has been shown to have cardioprotective effects in rats with myocardial infarction, although it may cause intravascular hemolysis when given orally as a single dose. Cibenzoline succinate is also biocompatible and can be used for sustained release of drugs.
