• Description: Camostat mesylate is an inhibitor of trypsin-like serine proteases such as trypsin, thrombin, plasmin, plasma kallikrein and urokinase-type plasminogen activator. Camostat mesylate has also been shown to inhibit trimming of the viral spike (S) protein in coronaviruses. Camostat mesylate inhibited the entry of SARS-CoV-2 in lung cells by inhibiting the priming process of S-protein, necessary for the viral entry into host cells.
