Description:

Catechin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It has been shown to have anti-cancer properties and is used in the treatment of atherosclerotic lesions. Catechin also inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes, which are involved in the metabolism of many drugs. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on allergic symptoms and infectious diseases, such as HIV, by preventing HIV from entering cells. The chemical structure of catechin is similar to epicatechin, which can be found in rhizoma gastrodiae (a type of ginger).
