Description:(-)-Catechin gallate is a flavonoid that belongs to the group of polyphenols. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. (-)-Catechin gallate has shown protective effects on skin cells against ultraviolet-induced skin cancer and energy metabolism, as well as anti-inflammatory properties. This compound also inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory mediators by inhibiting P2Y receptors. (-)-Catechin gallate may have chemopreventive effects by blocking signaling pathways involved in colorectal adenocarcinoma, squamous carcinoma, and human serum.
